"I bought these for my daughters to wear to Colorado for hiking this spring, but they has also ended up wearing them for PE every day since we got them! The smaller size (girls 1) are the pull cord enclosure. The bigger (girls 3) are regular tie. The smaller size pull cord seems to have stretched out a bit, so we have to tuck it under a few times, but it hasn't changed the fit of the shoe. Both girls really love the fit and look of these shoes. The older one is particularly fussy about her shoes, so I highly recommend for style and comfort."
