"These were my first reall hiking shoe so since I dont Have much to compare them to you might take this review with a grain of salt. These sheos were awsome. The soles on these shoes are thick and rigid enough that you can hardly feel the sharp rocks that you typically find on the trails when out hiking. I did a lot of hiking and camping in the southwest while wearing these shoes and not once did my feet get sore or tired. Shoes are very breathable as well. They only started to fall apart when I started mountain biking in them. But given the fact that I ride extremely tough terrain usually two or three times a week that was to be expected. Owned them for 5 years before they really started to show extensive wear and tear. Would buy them again."

"I am a zoo keeper and have to work in very wet and rough terrain daily and these shoes have so far been able to withstand the tough conditions. The gore-tex lining keeps all water out even when sprayed with a hose. They are quite slippery on smooth wet surfaces but I expect that to resolve itself once they aren't so new. They are also a little heavier than your average footwear but considering the conditions i work in I don't really notice anymore."

"These are comfortable and warm in the Fall/Winter months and they keep your feet dry when hiking. Highly recommend."
