"I, too, looked very carefully for that perfect pair of hikers and after trying several brands and styles this was the pair I purchased. I bought them just over a year ago when they first came out. Now that I've got several hundred kms on them, I feel as though I've earned this detailed review. First, I love how they look and how they feel (at least initially) - they also have great ankle support and seem to fit like a glove. I like to wear my hikers everywhere whether out in the yard, short day hikes or out in the backcountry so it's important for me to really like what buy. My problem started when I would go hiking long distances with a backpack. Unfortunately, a moderate overnight 25km hike is about all my feet can bare with these boots. It's the blisters I get after about the 10km mark - on the bottom of each toe and my heels - they are big and painful. I've tried different types of socks, bandaids - you name it - and nothing works for these long distance treks. I thought I would eventually "break them in" but that never happened. I tried returning the boots last fall but because they did not have a defect per see, I could not exchange them for a different pair. This past weekend I thought I'd try that one last time and sadly the boots have failed the test - again - blisters back with a vengence. The boots are still in excellent shape even after all the abuse I put them through but it's too bad they didn't hold up when it came to keeping my tootsies happy on the long rugged hikes. Maybe it's just me and the way my feet are but the gals out there need to know that initial comfort may be deceiving - especially if you plan on using them for what your supposed to. So... although I love wearing these for hikers for easy, lightweight, short distance trips they disappointingly don't measure up to the backcountry - the one place I need them to."

"I really thought long & hard before making this purchase. I live on a tight budget and was hesitant to spend the money on hiking boots. I am so happy I decided to make the purchase. The fit and support are incredible and these boots have to be the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever owned. I went on an 8 mile hike on difficult terrain, with a very short break-in period and had no complaints. I also have used these boots for work and casual everyday wear with no complaints. The only difficulty I have had is replacing the laces...I think I can live with that!!"
