"I had bought this model, the ultra gtx xcr, several years ago. Maybe it was 101. The forefoot is now more pinched. I have to wear very thick socks to protect my little toe. Maybe there's some way to lace this that I need to find out about. I like the design and it keeps the weather out. It's just not as pliable as it used to be."

"I have never purchased a pair of shoes without trying them on first, however, after I read the reviews, I thought I would buy them and see how they workeded out. I love them!! Fit was perfect, comfort is great, and perfect for anything outdoors. This is the shoe for my Costa Rica trip in December !"

"This is about the 4th pair of this style of North Face shoe that I've owned. I work in a wholesale greenhouse all day where I have to walk alot and inevitably get my feet wet. The Gore-Tex doesn't keep my feet completely dry, but is much better than any other shoe I've tried. They are comfortable right from the start, just a little bit stiff at first. Great arch support. I love them."
